Fort Collins, Colo. - Triple Crown Sports has announced that the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC), a premier NCAA Division I postseason tournament, will not be held in 2025.
The decision was made in collaboration with the NIVC committee as part of a broader effort to evaluate the evolving landscape of collegiate athletics.
“Triple Crown and our NIVC committee have elected to pause the NIVC for 2025 to reevaluate the landscape of the college volleyball market along with the college sports space,” said Jared Rudiger, TCS Director of Volleyball.
“Given the ever-changing budgets, NIL, and requirements universities are working their way through for their student-athletes, this pause allows us to assess how we can best serve the sport moving forward.”
Launched in 2017 as a revived postseason platform for high-performing programs outside the NCAA Tournament, the NIVC has featured some of the most competitive and passionate teams in DI volleyball, while offering valuable experience to student-athletes and coaches alike.
Triple Crown is committed to the long-term growth of women’s volleyball and will continue to evaluate the future of the NIVC.
“We will reevaluate for 2026 and have better clarity as we head into the summer of 2026 on what the vision is for the NIVC next fall,” Rudiger added.
