Beth Launiere, who has more than 540 career victories to her name, enters her 29th season at the helm of the Utah volleyball program in 2018. Launiere has registered a total of 545 career victories, 251 conference wins and an all-time winning percentage of .611, and all of these marks rank first among Utah volleyball’s coaching records.
One could argue that the 2017 season could be the best-ever under Launiere, as she guided the Utes to a 24-10 overall record, a 13-7 mark and a fourth-place finish in Pac-12 play, and a 14th NCAA Tournament appearance.
The 24 victories were the most in a single season since Utah tallied 26 victories back in 2008, while the 13 conference wins were the most since joining the Pac-12 in 2011. The fourth-place finish was Utah’s highest in the Pac-12 standings, as well.
In her first two seasons as the head coach of the Ball State women's volleyball program, Muncie native Kelli Miller has shown why she is considered one of the top up-and-coming coaches in the sport.
Recognized as an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Thirty Under 30 Award winner just prior to accepting the head coaching position at Ball State in 2016, Miller led the program to the 2017 Mid-American Conference West Division title this past season after a runner-up finish in the divisional race her first year.
Reed Sunahara enters his third season at the helm of the Mountaineers after being named the head coach of the West Virginia University volleyball program in March of 2015.
Several of Sunahara’s eight newcomers made immediate impacts on the program in 2016, as WVU more than doubled its 2015 win total by posting 12 victories in Sunahara’s second season. On Sept. 27, 2016, Sunahara notched his first Big 12 win with a 3-0 sweep of Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas. The Mountaineers added a win over TCU a week later and finished the season with three league triumphs while dropping a heartbreaker to No. 4 Kansas in five sets to end their home slate in November.
Jenny Glenn enters her third year with the Roadrunners in 2018-19
Glenn led the Roadrunners to a 22-9 overall record and 16-2 in the RMAC. MSU earned a second place finish in the conference regular season before falling to Regis in the RMAC championship game.
The Roadrunners received the third seed in the South Central region for the 2017 NCAA Division II volleyball tournament. They beat Texas A&M Commerce in the first round before falling to West Texas A&M in the Semifinals. Santaisha Sturges earned AVCA Second-Team All American honors.
