YALE
Head Coach:
 Erin Appleman
Erin Appleman, who was named head coach in 2003, has taken the Yale Volleyball program to unprecedented heights and established herself as one of the most accomplished volleyball coaches in the country, let alone the Ivy League.

Appleman serves as a member of Yale Athletics' Welcoming, Onboarding, & Retention Committee.

Appleman has guided the Bulldogs to three straight Ivy League titles and 10 championships overall, including a record-setting five straight titles (2010-2014); seven NCAA Tournament appearances (2004, 2008, 2011-2014, 2018); four 20-plus win seasons (2005, 2008, 2009, 2013); and became the first coach in conference history to win an NCAA Tournament match -- a feat she has accomplished twice (2004 and 2008).

Appleman, who has earned Coach of the Year honors from Ivy League (2018) and the AVCA East Region (2004), has built a winning tradition at Yale. The Bulldogs have finished in first or second place in each of the last 16 Ivy League seasons, and have won at least 10 matches in all but one of those years.  Appleman’s teams have also established a formidable home court advantage within the conference, winning 36 straight Ivy League home matches from 2009 to 2014.

KANSAS
Assistant Coach: Billy Ebel
Billy Ebel enters his fourth season as an assistant coach on Ray Bechard’s coaching staff at the University of Kansas in 2021. Ebel joined the Jayhawks after five seasons at Lipscomb University.

During his time at Lipscomb, Ebel helped lead the Bisons to three Atlantic Sun Conference regular-season titles and three appearances in the NCAA Tournament. In 2014, Ebel and the Bisons earned the ASUN’s first-ever at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. After three seasons as an assistant coach he was promoted to associate head coach by Lipscomb head coach Brandon Rosenthal in 2016, which was the first time Rosenthal had named an associate head coach.

WESLEYAN (CONN)
Head Coach:
Ben Somera
Ben Somera enters his seventh season at the helm of the Wesleyan volleyball program in 2021.

In 2019, Somera’s squad continued its historic climb to national prominence with its third-straight 20-win season. The Cardinals finished 21-5 overall and 9-1 in the NESCAC for the second year in a row. Wesleyan earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, marking the third-straight national postseason appearance, and advanced to the Second Round. The Cardinals also won their third-consecutive Little Three title and garnered four All-NESCAC selections, while junior Phia Bellizzi was tabbed the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year and Bella Ahearn captured NESCAC Rookie of the Year laurels. Additionally, Bellizzi was named a Second Team All-American and Nicole Hilton ’20 earned Honorable Mention, and three Cardinals earned AVCA All-Region honors.

ANGELO STATE
Head Coach: Chuck Waddington
Chuck Waddington and the Angelo State Belles have put the volleyball nation on notice.

Waddington, who will begin his 14th season as head coach in 2021, has guided the Belles to nine straight NCAA South Central Regional Tournaments and a historic run to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2016. In that time, the Belles have won three regular season LSC Titles and four LSC Tournament Championships.  He’s been named the LSC’s Coach of the Year four times and has helped 17 players earn AVCA All- American status. He also guided Meghan Parker to the program's very first AVCA National Freshman of the Year award.

He has accumulated 319 overall wins, 174 Lone Star Conference victories, 13 straight LSC Tournament appearances and multiple All-Conference and All-Region performers.  “I think we are progressing in the direction to be a national contender every year,” said Waddington, who is ASU’s fifth head coach since the program was started in 1976. “We are a program that is approaching the level where we will be competing for national championships year in and year out. We want to start moving up the national ladder and become a consistent program that is always in the top-10 and competing for that top spot.”

In the shortened Spring 2021 season, the Belles won their division of the LSC with a 10-2 mark and eventually won the LSC Tournament with wins over Midwestern State, Texas A&M-Kingsville and UT-Tyler. They then went on to win the AVCA DII National Championship and finish the season as the top-ranked team in the country.

POINT LOMA
Head Coach: Jonathan Scott
The 2021 season will mark the eighth season for coach Jonathan Scott at the helm of the Point Loma women's volleyball program.

During his seven seasons, Scott has led the Sea Lions to a 102-78 record (.567 winning%), including an 81-47 (.633 winning%) mark in the PacWest. Scott took the Sea Lions' volleyball program to its first-ever NCAA West Regional appearance in 2015. He guided PLNU to a 20-10 record and an at-large berth as the No. 7 seed. Heather Leavitt and Savannah Wedemeyer each earned AVCA All-America honors under Scott's guidance in both 2014 and 2015. Leavitt also captured the 2015 PacWest Player of the Year honors, marking the first time a Sea Lion in any sport has earned this honor.

Under Scott's tutelage, Cara Keturakis earned PacWest Setter of the Year honors as both a junior and senior. She set the school-record with five career triple-doubles and finished third in PacWest history with 4,062 career assists. Keturakis and middle blocker Madie Fox both went on to earn AVCA All-American honors during the 2019 season.
