Joe Sagula
Head Coach - North Carolina

Picture
Joe Sagula, one of the most successful coaches in college volleyball, completed his 29th season at Carolina in 2018. UNC’s winningest volleyball coach in history, Sagula has won seven ACC championships and led UNC to 14 of its 18 NCAA Tournament appearances.

The Tar Heels are 599-342 under Sagula, a .637 winning percentage. Sagula is 802-465 (.633) over a total of 38 years as a Division I head coach, with 11 regular-season and six conference tournament titles.

Sagula has the most ACC wins of any coach in history with 324, and his seven ACC titles ties for the most all time among the league’s coaches.

Ray Bechard
Head Coach - Kansas

Picture
Entering his 23rd season at Kansas in 2020, Bechard has led the Jayhawks to a 398-269 (.597) mark, including a 167-50 (.770) record from 2012-18. In all, the hall-of-fame coach has taken KU to the 2015 Final Four, won the 2016 Big 12 title, earned Big 12 Coach of the Year four times, and overseen nine All-Americans during his time at KU.

Entering his 23rd season as head coach of the University of Kansas volleyball program and 36th overall, Ray Bechard has led the Jayhawks to unprecedented success on the court and in life. During his 1,000-win career, victories have been the product of a goal but not the goal itself.

Brandon Rosenthal
Head Coach - Lipscomb

Picture
Brandon Rosenthal enters his 17th season as the head coach of the Lipscomb volleyball team and he wants to leave a legacy that will not soon be forgotten. In other words, he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

The 2017 season did not go as planned for Rosenthal and his Bisons as they finished 16-13 overall and earned the No. 4 seed in the ASUN Tournament with an 8-6 record. It marked the first time since 2007 that they didn’t finish in the top three. They defeated No. 5 North Florida 3-0 in the opening round before falling 3-1 to eventual tournament champion, No. 1 Kennesaw State.

Lindsey Devine
Head Coach - Alabama

Picture
Darling, who also serves an an English professor at Gannon, is the longest tenured and winningest head coach in the history of the Gannon volleyball program as he begins his 13th season in 2019.

The program looks very different than it did when he arrived in February of 2007. Darling took over a team that posted single-digit victory totals in consecutive seasons prior to his arrival and engineered a turnaround that includes the current run of ten straight 20-win seasons and NCAA tournament appearances. That run includes the Lady Knights’ first-ever NCAA Division II Final Four appearance, first-ever conference championship, two trips to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen and dozens of postseason awards.
